Default How to Disconnect Rear Wiper on 944 for Rear Seal Replacement

Have an '84 944 and a new lower rear hatch seal to put on it.

I have a working rear wiper and do not want to cut the wire or cut the new lower hatch seal (as some suggest).

Simply, how do I disconnect the rear wiper wire that goes from inside the trim the upper body into the trim lower body?

So that I can install the new lower seal without cutting it or the wiper wire.

There was an electrical connector was under the rear headliner panel on my 86 about 3" forward of the top/left of the hatch/roof seal area. You have to remove that panel but it's only a few screws.

Of course, the new rear hatch seal will fit over the hatch while it is installed. No need to disconnect the wire or cut the seal.
