Default Wiper Arms: Not Enough Contact Pressure and Easy Fix

Just wanted to pass on an easy effective low $ + no brainer fix for a common 944 issue:

One of the minor issues plaguing my 944 over the past year or so has been the lack of contact pressure from the wiper arms onto the windshield. The result was a large uncleared patch in the center of the drivers side of the windshield. Not usually a problem as I never drove the car much in the rain etc. but something I wanted to eventually address.

I had tried the usual recommended fixes posted here...different blades, bend the wiper arm etc. but decided to take Gregeast's lead (thanks Greg!) and pick up a set of 968 dual spring wiper arms. Picked up a pair on eBay for less than $40, installed them and BAZINGA.....Problem solved. Put on a new pair of 20" BOSCH Icon's ($11 each at WallyMart!) and ran into a slow rain on a drive last week. The difference was noticeably measureable.

FYI if the set you pick up doesn't have the bolt cover caps they're part number # 944 628 305 01 . Pelican has them for $3.25 each.

Cheers: Jim
