Here's one I'd buy...

A flanged piece that would bolt up to the 951/S2/S size AFM opening, with "bell mouth" incorporated into it, and also a round flange around that for a coupler/cone filter to attach.

So it would be round on the outside, say 3" OD, and inside that circle would be the "square bell-mouth" matched to the AFM opening, and bolt holes could be on the inside of the piece.

I'm not sure that ABS would work very well in the engine bay. It has a relatively low melting point to be able to work in a 3d printer.

And is pretty brittle. I used to assemble 3D printed ABS pieces for subsea drilling models and that stuff will break if you look at it the wrong way.

+1 for this idea.

Possibly ducts that replace the 951 foglights like AIR (I like the idea of plastic instead of fiberglass). I also remember Lindsey Racing was developing a part a few years ago that incorporated a small fog light as well as a duct and there was a lot of interest, but the project faded away.

I would say, with a big enough machine, custom made intakes would be an awesome idea. Depending on people's turbo setups and whatever...

You might be thinking of old 3D printing: stuff from the last decade. Stuff that is in really pastel colors? That stuff was useless, and really only used for seeing a shape and prototyping. The new machines, at least those used professionally, create pieces that are much stronger. But it is plastic, so it has its limits.

I believe you can do natural. However because of the nature of 3D printing, the light transfer wouldn't work. You need a smooth substance throughout for the light to travel through it to the desired spot.

I din't know they're NLA. Best bet is to get a plastic company to reverse-mold it, and mold new ones in clear plastic. Might cost a fortune though.

I'm pretty sure they'd melt. It would definitely be 'flow-formed' though.

Take care,

At least with my transition piece it would be placed far enough away from real heat there shouldn't be a problem, and there'd be fresh air going through it constantly.

I'd love a copy of that hinge, I've got a friend with a 3D printer and a broken glovebox!
