Default 91 s2 I need help

So as I documented in another thread that I had about 2 months ago I have been trying to figure out why my 91 S2 cab has 0 oil pressure. Life has prevented me from doing any real work on it for weeks but I spent some time this evening.

Background information: I dropped the oil pan to check the pickup which was fine but the pan is still off as I will change the rod bearings once I have it off and the gasket was leaking anyways so I will change that.

One thing I never did even thought I received good advice to do so was to get the OPRV alignment tool and check the alignment of the oil filter/cooler housing. Well I finally got it and it does not screw in easily so I am thinking my whole problem is the cooler housing is out of alignment. As I started to work to loosen the screws holding the housing in I noticed that the top right hand bolt was not tight at all and in fact I could take it out with my hand turning the ratchet extension further leading me to believe that somehow the bolt worked itself loose or was never tightened properly by some previous person and that got the housing out of alignment.

Now to my question:
As I loosened the bottom 2 screws of the housing coolant started to run out from the bolt holes and the empty OPRV hole. As I loosened some more I noticed coolant starting to leak out of the bottom of the engine (remember there is no oil pan in place). Is this normal. I was under the impression that there was no coolant running through the oil cooler/filter housing in a 91 s2. Also why would it be running out of the bottom of the block in a manner that would be running into the oil pan if it was in place.

I have a bad feeling about this

Thanks

Mark

Was it fresh coolant or a coolant/oily milkshake?
