Do all 968's Leak a little oil?
I haven't had this car long and don't drive it a whole lot. I notice a drop or two (virtually) of oil on the Floo under my car when I do get the chance to drive it. Is this absolutely terrible or is it just one of those things? The engine compartment is absolutely pristine so it must be comming frome somewhere way down there low. No change on the dip stick. This is maybe two drops every week or two. I have not taken it to a garge yet to have it looked at. Here in this part of Ohio it seems like they charge way too uch even to take a look. Any thoughts?

I'll second Tabor on this... my 944 ('88, 110K) wasn't totally dry, but the dipstick never dropped visibly between changes (5K). The 968 ('94, 65K) has a slight dampness on the pan, puts maybe a drop a week on the garage floor, and the level on the stick never goes down.
If I happen to spot the leak, I'll fix it if it's not a major hassle; otherwise, it ain't worth worrying about, as long as the area inside the timing belt cover stays dry.
BTW, Marbil, could it be power steering fluid?? If the leak is near the right front corner of the car, it's maybe the infamous hose & clamp at the bottom of the PS reservoir. Pretty easy / cheap to fix.
Jim, suppertime!!!

I had the same thing in my '94 968. I didnt worry about it and when I changed the belts and water pump I told them to do the front engine seals while they were in there. No drops since then and I run synthetic.

Another Canadian JASON, eh.
Leaking a drop of oil is nothing harmful, other than the mess it makes on your floor and on your pan
If you do plan to get the gasket changed, there are different types you can get. Cork ones tend to leak, they soak up oil more than the paper and silicone type gaskets.
Sometimes it looks as though the oil is coming from the pan, but it could be from the cam cover, one of the pressure/level sensors (replace crush washer.or sensor if needed), the dip stick tube, or the drain plug (replace sealing washer).
The oil gets real hot and thin if it's leaking up top, slides down to the oil pan and hangs around there making it look as though the oil pan is leaking, so check carefully!
