Default What's this part under my hood? Is it a "Kanuter valve?"

Hey guys, I have a question. And no, I know it's not a Kanuter valve.

So, while I was replacing my vacuum lines to the silicone ones I stumbled onto something mounted next to the engine lift point. What the hell is it? I can't seem to figure out what it is via the spare parts catalogs. Also, is it common that it looks so broken apart?

There are usually 2 things on that post 1 is a hard wire going to the exhaust for the gas analyzer the other is connector for the gas analyzer to get computer data.

It is a tube going to the exhaust system. Probably set up at the factory. Most people remove the tube because the rubber cap rots away and the exhaust blasts theunderside of the hood and leaves a burt place on the hood.

Now that I look at it more closely, it may not be a tube at all. I'm not sure now.

Speaking of that, does anyone have a single spare alloy lug nut? Apparently that is the preferred method of plugging off that tube boss at the exhaust after the tube is removed (which I need to do, as the bracket is missing anyway).

It is a sensor for archaic test equipment, and can be removed. The wire leads to a sensor that is mounted on the driver side of the speed and reference sensors on top of the bellhousing. It is also the #2 asked question on rennlist, following "can I turbo my NA"

The crumbling piece is just a cap, pull it off and you will see the electrical connector portion.

That's where the blinker fluid goes.

When I removed my EG tube, I took the original tube furrel nut from the exhaust side, removed the tube section and replaced it with a ball bearing then tightened the furrel nut down over the bearing.
