Default The Dash, what to do and whats under it

Hey guys got an easy one for you, what's under the dash vinyl and foam? Metal, plastic, mdf? Also I'm debating should I just get a dash mat, dash cap or get some vinyl or suede? Thanks for the info.

So its like a metal version of the dash? Wouldn't it be easy to strip it down and glue an abs dash cap on and call it a day

The metal does not appear to be finished and the thickness would be an issue

Gotcha so even if i rip it off and re-do it I imagine I need some sort of foam backing between the vinyl and the metal or should most material be thick enough?

Yes, however the foam is probably ok under the cover. It will be cracked, but repairable.

There was a YouTube video not long ago that showed how to do it. Search for 944 dash vinyl.

Exactly right on the video, but they make it seem much easier than reality.

Wow he did a good job!

It's actually quite easy to remove the dash from the car. I removed mine when i bought it. But i sent my dash off to get fixed. because mine is burgundy i had them match the paint and they did it. came out very nice.
