Default PLASTI-DIP!!!

Been hearing a lot about this stuff on various car forums, thought I'd give it a try!

http://plastidip.com/

http://dipyourcar.com/

Bought a can from home depot for $6 and off I went.

Just sprayed my center panel "944" letters because they were faded. Looks amazing. The beauty of this stuff is, "If you don't like it, just PEEL IT OFF!!!" People are using it to paint wheels, decals, even entire cars!

Next I am thinking of spraying my flag mirrors for kicks and giggles. Might look cool.

Yep good stuff. Just be aware of surface prep or may not stick. I try to keep a spray can on the shelf at all times.

Cool stuff, but what if you bump into your car one morning in a rush? That stuff seems like it comes off a little TOO easy.

Nope. All colors spray on matte, but you can spray a coat of "glossifier" (they have all sorts of colors) that make the paint glossy. It seems to stay on pretty well; some people have had it stay on for years. Just make sure you don't lift an edge or it'll peel off like a sticker. You can fix that pretty easily though. You can get a 300$ kit from dipyourcar that comes with a gallon of the stuff in the color you want and an electric sprayer (it doesn't atomize well in a HVLP apparently) to spray the whole car. I think that's what I'll do for the winter... or maybe even just for for daily driving. They come in clear too.

I've trying to think of a way to repair my cracked dash in-place, maybe I could fill in the cracks and use this stuff to finish it off...

Go for it! Just beware the finish is matte black, and somewhat grippy like rubber..

This would be perfect to stripe my car for the track..
Also would work great for numbers.

Interesting stuff, I particularly like that you can use the Clear Plasti-Dip as a clear protective bra for the front of my car?

One thing they don't tell you in the faq's is what it's made off. Flammability would be my concern especially on a track car.

It's definitely not a replacement for clear bras, since it's known that it doesn't really protect from flying rocks. I see it as a temporary cheap way to keep the paint safe from the elements. I guess it might work if you lay a lot of coats on (avg is 5 coats).

If you lay a can or two on the front I think it can be used as a bra... The stuff is apparently chip and scratch existent. And it peels right off haha

Yep, those chips definitely exist.

Just in case they have a existential crisis.
