Rubber center fail! New clutch time...suggestions?
This is the ongoing thread that I started to put all my questions and info in one place.
Recently updated with turn signal relay questions, and a blown up clutch. Please see my post on page four for clutch details and questions.
Hi all! I'm starting this thread as somewhat of a personal blog on the progress of my 1983 944na. It's also going to be a fun competition to see how many different kinds of porsche are in my 944. So far thirdgenbird and I have found components from a 951, a 968, a 911, and obviously a 944. See if you can spot them all!!!
As my screen name suggests, I previously owned a 924s, but that has been learned from, and then subsequently sold when this opportunity arose. I bought this car from a close friend over the thanksgiving break of 2011. He was the person that introduced me to the 944 and I have always admired the car.
I'll tell you a bit more about the car (because it has all kinds of fun attributes), but first I figured it'd be fun to see who can guess the majority of the components from different porsches.
Below are a few pictures from when I first bought the car, and a recent trip to Chicago with some friends for st. Patricks Day. No drinking and driving was done but I did manage to get a 120 dollar ticket for not using my blinker on the tollway...thank you old german wiring (my left turn signal decided to stop functioning).
In answer to the inevitable question; the front valence is a VERY TEMPORARY fix, until I get my hands on a parts car. It decided to part ways with the car when I was crossing the bridge over the mississippi on the way back into dubuque from duluth. It's currently lag screwed to the front of the car, and festively adorned with a bit o' the irish in honor of the holiday.
let the games begin!:

interior shots coming soon. Parts car comes April 1, and that's not an april fools joke. I already have access to it, but I'm waiting to get access to next years garage before buying the car (I'm changing houses).

Here's a few shots of the interior. More to come when I have better lighting.

@thirdgenbird, we're talking abut iowa. My two current roommates are graduating, so the house I've been in for the last two years will no longer suit me. I'm moving to a nice place, a block from campus, with a fairly large single car garage.

Wow. My hat's off to you! The only way you could have taken a bigger bite of P-Car restoration would have been if you went for a vintage 928. Good luck!

Ian is definitely on the right track. Also 968 suspension parts(sway bars, springs struts) and possibly 911 Porsche script seats. They definitely aren't stock...

@van, I need a summer job, as the Porsche account is beginning to run dry. But once I have some extra cash I think some nice vinyls from you ought to add at least 50 horsepower...
