Default how much money do you have in your car ??

ballpark.... i passed low-mile 996 money a while back. just curious to know how many of you all are getting close or have passed the H20-cooled 911 threshold (like this nice one in Zyclamrot w/ 60 k miles).

or am i flirting with the 944 'third rail' just by asking?

None, I prefer to keep my money in the bank. Cars are too easy to break into and still the cash

Well Im in Norway and parts/cars are EXPENSIVE..... Im in $24.000,- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the car isnt even on the road yet, I have some stuff to do and when im finishd I got parts to sell so I get back like $1500 - $3000. But will still buy more parts so total cost will be around $46.400,- before I will call it "DONE"

I wish I lived in the states :/

$1,700 purchase in April '11 ( Bursch headers, new brakes but No air and a dead but dry sunroof)
$150 in filters, fluids and plugs.... ( 6th Full T-belt kit was done 5k ago)
Clutch at 50% life... ( collective Rennlist wisdom is that it must be the 2nd or 3rd )

Amazing experience for $1850...

I have owned my 944 for over 13 years (14 in November)
I don't even know what I have spent on it over the years. Not sure I want to either.
Right now it sits in a shop in tampa, waiting for a new short block.

you want a used long block?

car: 3g
clutch: 1,500
trans: 700
tune up w/head: 2500
other random things: 3g

total: 10,700...only to have an engine fire a month after the tune up, shoulda had him do the fuel line as well.

i'm somewhere near $36 k. purchase plus a few upgrades, all maintenance and driving it about 55 k miles. maybe $9 k more on my pre-swap parts including the new transmission.

considering your recent adventures, you're far too modest.

You need an option there that says, "I'm not interested in flat-six beetles"

I'm at least 15k into my stupid build, /sigh

I'm in 450$ for the toasted motor, 50$ for engine stand, 12$ for bolts, and minus 3 hours of time removing said toasted motor. 512$ isn't too bad ....

I keep a dollar bill in the ashtray... But for real about $9500 at this point - $3K of that is maintenance, but most of the things I wanted to do are now done.
