A few pounds LOL. Get your scale out. Have fun with the unsprung weight.
I run 17's usually and live in a town with a pothole problem (thanks low taxes!) Koni yellows, 200lb springs up front, 968 m030 sways. The wheel still looses first when you hit a pothole. believe me i know, I'm back on my d90's right now because of a pothole. The suspension was just dandy, 2 of the wheels have dents that need to be fixed though.

The 17" 10 spokes were actually slightly lighter than my d90's. The tires were heavier but no issues there. I'm running 968 castor blocks as recommended by the factory.

I know many who have left RL for other sites due to member immaturity / harassment / unnecessary bickering, maybe enforcement of the policies would help?
Better start a new thread for this one.

18" Fuchs would be sweet. IMO 19" are just too big on a 944.

Seen as a percentage, 19" are just about 5% larger as 18"; yes, the % loss of sidewall is higher but one could use a slightly larger tire to offset this somewhat.
