I am trying to get my airbag issues sorted out, and this is what I came up with from Clark's garage

Faults 30 and 31

Central warning lamp and belt symbol still light up after failure of the airbag sign.

Remove and check control lamp and replace if necessary.

Check wiring harness for damage and replace control unit if necessary.

So what is the control lamp? is it the master caution light "!"? If so should I replace it even though it works fine? Both of the bulbs work fine, so I don't know what to do.

Do you have a manual for your car? You failed to tell us the year and model of your car. With my luck if I messed around with the Air Bag System it would go off in my face. There must be another light besides the " ! " light for the Air Bags. I would not tear into the gages if that " ! " light works OK on start up. I hope someone can give you the correct answer to your problem. Let us know how you solve the problem.

My problem ended up being the controller itself. So I deleted the entire system.

Sorry forgot to mention my car is an 89 944S2. I do have the book, but I am away from home right now so if any one else can look in their book and see if it tells you what the hell is the control lamp is.

I would love to just take it out, but until I can pass the safty inspection I can't plate the car. So I am stuck trying to figure this out.
