Default rear shock absorber bolts

What size socket do I need to replace the rear shocks on an '86 944 turbo?

Yes 22 sounds right for lower. just did them a month or so ago.

just make sure to use your good impact, or a big ol' breaker bar+hammer. mine had never been out and kinda gave me a little run. Beautiful, clean looking bolts when they did though being in a blind hole.

FWIW, the lower shock bolt is an M14. Very hard to come by in the proper length (NLA from Porsche, and not a standard length available at your local hardware store), so take care you don't damage it on removal. If it's stuck, hit it with some penetrating oil, let it sit overnight, and then use a good quality impact gun to hammer on it. You'll have a better chance getting it removed without busting the head off.
