Default Fuch / cookie cutter ?

Is a cookie cutter a type of Fuch? it seems a cookie cutter sells for $300 and a fuch closer to $1000. I have an 83 944 and I believe the rims are referred to as cookie cutters. Can some one enlighten me on the difference. Pic attached
Thanks

Cookies are not made by Fuchs. It's a less desireable wheel, but it's still a good, light wheel. Fuchs just has more historical value.

Thanks Greg !! That would explain why my part number 911 361 023 would not show up on a search at Porsche's web site.

iirc, Cookies are made by ATS.. A well known wheel maker - http://atsmotorsport.de/ats/index.ph...id=5&Itemid=26. It should have the ATS somewhere on the backside in one of the spokes.

Cookies tend to be heavier than fuchs (they are also cheaper as well) but were used on porsches beginning in 1973 (6x15 sized)

from their website:
1971 Porsche is the first global brand to choose these light and very economically produced light alloy wheels as OEM products, and that as early as 1971. Ever since then ATS have been shining with further pioneering achievements and setting the standards worldwide.

They do have ATS cast on one of the spokes.

Thanks Racer

Get a nice set of phone dails off an early offset turbo. I love those wheels and you can usually scoop them up for about 400$

Fuchs are forged, and certain sizes were used in motorsport.

The cookies weren't really that heavy ... 6.9Kg (cookie cutter) vs. 6.0Kg (fuch) for 7Jx15". I believe they are cast alloy as opposed to forged. So the combination of lighter weight and stronger wheel make the Fuchs generally more desirable.

Quick Reply: Fuch / cookie cutter ?
