low idle when cold, REALLY high idle when warm after replacing throttle switch
Ok earlier today i replaced the throttle switch on my car and cleaned out the throttle body prior to installation. After I installed the throttle switch and installed it back on the car. I noticed the car had a really high idle while i was driving it; about 1300 rpm to be exact. Now I don't have a racing cam in this car but correct me if i'm wrong...but isn't that idle high? I made adjustments to the AFM and backed the idle screw all the way out. No luck. The car just acts like its gonna bog out on a cold start up. When it is warm, it idles at 1300 still. Did I do something wrong when i installed the throttle position switch? I just made more adjustments to the AFM to compromise the high idle but I think the car won't hold a cold idle anymore for start up the next morning. Any suggestions would be appreciated deerly

There are two adjustment screws on the intake. The one on the Air Flow Sensor, AFS, is to change the mixture. The one on the throttle body is to change the idle.
If the idle is high after you cleaned the throttle body and reset the two switches then the throttle valve may not be not closing all the way. You will have to check this before you adjust the idle bypass screw.
Also check if any of the vacuum/vent lines are loose. There are two that go to the throttle body. One ahead of the valve and one on the engine side.
Since your idle stayed the same both cold and warm the idle bypass valve is working as it should.

If you have a new switch, you should hear a click when you close the throttle completely (with engine off) and when it just starts to open. If not, you have to loosen the screws on the side of the tps and turn it until you do.

The TPS does not make a clicking noise. So I don't think it's closing properly. I need to adjust it as soon as I get out of school today. Thanks for the feedback
