Great cars, and great planes. I have seen the Thunder Birds perform a few times, and they are pretty impressive. The speedster is fantastic, I have seen more F16s then I have seen speedsters. Great shots.

Thanks for all of the comments, everyone.

Photo op was arranged by a friend of mine (owner of the Speedster) who was kind enough to let me tag along with the cool kids in my 944. (Thanks, Jager!)

Beautiful weather, beautiful cars, and a great bunch of folks to share it all with. Oh yeah, the '16s were ok, too, if you're into that kind of thing. (After 20+ years of ATC, you'll have to forgive me if my "oooh and aaah" meter doesn't peg out at the sight of another shiny noise maker.)

Got a few more pics I'll post later this weekend.

Greetings from a 944/968 fan! I need to make it by this forum more often; seeing this thread for the first time
Ironic timing, though: writing from Las Vegas, home of the Thunderbirds (on business trip).

DHC6-- Thanks BTW, cool screen name ...I've seen more deHavilland DHC-6 'Twin Otters' than F-16s.

EJZ-- My pleasure, brother!!! Agreed -- a magical day & a once-in-a-lifetime photo op. The Air Force couldn't have been more helpful: your friends with the "patriotic paint jobs" were incredibly accomodating. Same for you, getting all the RLers & their 'Beetles' on-base & positioned by the planes.

EJ-- Any water-cooled goodness to add?
Only other one I have is the group shot with you & all the happy RLers.

In the meantime, more "VW Beetles"

Nice! Awesome pictures!!

It's always good to see that the pilots that couldn't become Naval aviators still found a home in the AF

I work below the runway pattern for Nellis Air Force Base, Home of the T-birds. Everyday is a Fee Air show. 16's, 18's, 22's, B1's, B2's, wart hogs. you can tell when the big dogs are hunting, the whole building shakes and the meetings come to a halt. Awesome display of power that solidifies your confidence in this country's military might.
