Default AC help needed urgently: wiring figured out, new problem!

*note* the following i have already figured out. the wiring is all sorted for me...see post 7 for the new problem

the first picture (the green/red + black) is the compressor clutch wire (the clutch grounds to the compressor housing). the red/green + brown wires go to the "electric air valve". and the black/white+black wires (not shown) are for the pressure switch.

I'm reinstalling the AC stuff into my early and I have all the coolant lines and stuff sorted out but I need to know what these wires are for.

On top of the compressor there are two wires, one is a ground I presume as it goes to the clutch and then screws into the compressor housing, and the other wire seems to be wrapped in a type of fabric or something but it has been clipped (don't believe I did that when removing the compressor from the car in 2005).

Coming out of the engine bay are 3 wires, the first one (looks yellow in the pic; its red/green and a black) used to have a long rectangular nylon wire connector and the other two I just found ziptied out of the way. I assume the green/red one is power and the brown one is a ground, but for what I don't know.

FYI the large red wire coming out of that harness is part of my custom-made lighting harness.

What are these?

quick bump
checking the haynes manual wire diagrams and it says the red/green + brown pair goes to the "Air conditioner Supplementary Air Valve"....what is that?

still dont know what the other wire is.,

extra parts
to me they look like the type of wire that goto a temp sensor on the rad or other type sensor wire

I found another pair of wires that appears to be the connectors for the Pressure switch, according to an older thread about AC wiring (same connectors/wire colors).

From the same thread I am going to guess that the red+green /black wire pair goes to the AC clutch wire.

This still leaves me with a red+green /brown wire pair unconnected.

AFAIK, the A/C supplementary air valve adds air to the engine to compensate for the load of the compressor.

What 944Ross said. Its a valve that puts opens to let air in the manifold. It mounts on the back of the air filter box.

I found something in my box of AC parts that when I put in the bosch part number in google comes up with a 1984 Porsche 944 auxiliary air valve. But I looked under my intake manifold in my car and my engine has an entirely different type of valve under the manifold.

The spare part I have looks like this

and under my manifold (this is what pelican calls an auxiliary air valve) looks like this:

is this the right part for the AC? it has 2 wire terminals on it.

*edit*
just took the thing outside and the bolts line right up with the bracket on the back of the airbox and the two wires plug right onto the terminals. this is the supplementary valve as named in the haynes manual. i found it in the (early) PET. page 42/315 item 16. called an "electric air valve"

so where the heck do the hoses plumb to off this valve? in the PET it doesnt show exactly but im going to guess that one hose (PET 42/315 #29) goes from the electric valve into the bottom of the manifold at the barb (this would mean i have to pull my manifold off...$%^&*)

where does the other hose go?

i have attached some pictures. the first picture shows a hose that my dad blocked off for some reason after the car was back together after our rebuild. im guessing thats where one end of the electric valve plumbing goes.

the second picture is where, if im reading the pet right, the other end of the plumbing plugs in.

is this correct?

the third picture is some random holes ive never noticed before and only discovered when i pulled out the glove box today to check the blower motor hose connections. the holes are next to the vacuum canister on the engine side, different sizes, im thinking that they are where the wiper motor mounts on RHD cars? either way i have some sprinkler plumbing tape on them now as a temporary seal, ill make a metal plate to screw on there later.

Yup that first pic is it. The output T's into the manifold to brakebooster line.

I think I figured out the wiring! Correct me if I'm wrong but this is my interpretation of the FSM wiring diagram for AC.
