SNB,

Do you a pic of what that part looks like? The 1985 parts catalog doesn't show it...

Yeah they work very well with a clear vision, but their most impressive function is the 500grams (each) which is 75% lighter than the Originals..

You're right those are cool, but those carbon ones look a bit different...curved front and not that square, the foot looks the same style as the rest of the mirror.
500 grams is nothing...i wonder how much the GTS/944CUP mirrors weigh.

Drove the 931 to work today as no rain...one of the last drives with the 924s this year as insurances end next month and its getting too cold for propper grip. The Dunlop SP Sport 01s on this car are not briliant tires in the wet and cold.

Bought some embroidered Lloyd Ultimats to dress it up.
My original carpet is Linen, but I didn't want Linen floor mats.
However I think the Linen trunk mat will work better back there.
The Lloyd Linen #698 is a good match for the factory '89-up Linen, unless it's faded (like mine). I'll deal with new carpet later.

Best part is they were 20% off the whole order + free shipping!

happily, CF qualifies as both "fast" and "ugly"

exposed carbon fibre is grotesque...some things were invented to be painted.

Poured oil on the cams and chain pads and took mine out for a 3AM run. She has been parked for a couple months.

Took it to get it aligned at a popular local place that are alignment specialists, and only do alignments.

Got turned away. "We don't know how to do the rear, take it to the dealer"
How absurd. I respect the honesty, but from a specialist shop....

Went to Stable Energies in anger, made an appointment to get it aligned and corner balanced. Should have done that to begin with.

alternative option is to find a VW hotrod shop...944 rear suspension is 99% identical to a super-beetle rear end.

I expected a corner balance at a shop like Stable to be a million dollars, so I didn't bother even looking into it. I was just angry enough at the dealer comment to go and hear it.

Not anywhere near a million dollars. Affordable. Stupid not to do it after investing so much more in parts.
