Default Sheepskin seat covers too 70s?

I have the porsche script cloth sport seats in my car (85.5) and the passenger side looks brand new but the driver side is starting to tear (cloth part) and vinyl part already has cracks and tears in it due to drying out.

anyways finding a new driver side seat to match seems like too much of a hassle so I'm looking for nice seat covers.

I was thinking of getting black sheekskin seat covers as beige or any other color would look too goofy in my black interior. I thought black sheepskins should look good if they fit properly on these seats.

I'm not sure if generic ones you can buy from stores would look good.

also I remember a site that sells custom I think vinyl seat covers that look pretty good made for porsche seats but I forget the site.

what do you guys think? I kind of want to get black sheepskin seat covers as they look pretty comfy also.

Good, custom fit sheepskins are more than a reupholstering your existing seat. Or, just buy a used set of black leather seats, that would be cheaper also.

you mean replacing both seats? It's pretty hard finding untorn nice seats and if they are nice they are most likely going to cost 500+ dollars. I've seen torn sport seats beign advertised for like 300 dollars or more.

I've seen "universal" black sheepskin covers for about 80 bucks for each seat and they look pretty nice but not sure how they would fit on my seats. I just want it to look decent, they don't have to be perfect.

I remember someone here posted a site that sells custom seat covers for 944 seats and they were pretty pricey but nice I think 300 bucks or something and made out of a synthetic waterproof material.

These aren't bad

They'll never match the quality of having someone actually recover them but the price is right. Plus that company will sell on ebay for a reduced price from their own website.

Sheepskin seat covers too 70s?
Yes.

You should repair your cloth script seats. There is a company in New Zealand or Australia that sells the fabric. Do a search and you will find, good luck!

No. He should put in Pinto seats. Then the value of his car will go up.

Actually, sheepskin seat covers are not just from the 70's. I went online and built a E550 on the mbusa.com site yesterday, and sure enough Benz offers factory color matched sheepskin inserts in the front seats.

And then put the stimulated sheepskin covers on them to, err, keep them protected. If he could get in on a group buy for some Pinto valve stem caps that would be livin' large.

Sheepskin covers make me think of a 70's pimp and a caddy convertible. Me no want.
