Default Cruise control repair

Ok my cruise was not working so I took out the servo and as Clark's said I removed the screws opened it up and the spring did not pop out but I heard it release ( a snap sound). So what does the spring hook on to ? Any one with a picture of where the spring sits ? I know it sits in the bottom gear but what does the hook of the spring hook on to ??

Hey I got a great picture that would help you. I had the same problem and after searching around for hours I found a picture that cleared it up for me, however I don't remember the link I just saved the picture so I can't attach it here, if you want to PM me your personal e-mail I'd be happy to send it to you. But anyway the bent side of the spring goes in the track next to the rubber stopper on the wall of the servo. The straight side goes in the track of the large quarter gear holding this gear up against the rubber stopper. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I know this thread is old but I'm trying to fix my cruise control on my 1986 Porsche 944.

The problem seems to be with the servo unit. Couple of pictures attached.

I can't work out where the bottom part of the spring goes. There doesn't seem to be an obvious place for it to sit in......????

Does my unit look correct - all back in the right place?
The gap at the top where the other spring is looks rather big.

Any help, especially pictures would be most appreciated.

Many thanks.
Kev.

Saludos.

He says he can get you whatever pictures of the unit you might still need.

Question

Apologies for bumping a very old thread but I have a cruise control module picture request.
Is anyone able to show me a picture of the module installation for pre E-throttle cruise control (i.e. using the control module shown on this thread). Ideally for a RHD car but a LHD may be useful too.
Background is that I did all the wiring retrofit and ordered up the bracket (996.617.121.00) but can't for the life of me figure out what it's supposed to bolt to. The service manual says "the pedal bearing block above the accelerator" - but this seems to be referring to LHD (where there is no additional bracket).
Also, the screws that attach the module to the bracket are not listed in the parts manual and didn't come with my pedal/module. Anyone know the spec?

Thanks in advance!

Worked it out. Just remove the air con duct and the module bracket mounting position is obvious. Bolts are 6.3 x 19 self tappers. CC light comes on with the key. Nearly there..
