Arrow Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers

Check it out -- I'm moving and I came across a box of these in the garage from what seems like a previous life now...

They are sweet-looking carbon fiber mirror covers (bras, bug/stone shields, whatever) for the older-style mirrors.

They are real, properly molded carbon fiber, not "carbon look" or fiberglass with a carbon skin.

They have a glossy basket weave finish and fit perfectly.

I only have a handful of sets, and when they're gone, they're gone.

I stuck 'em on eBay:
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=38659&item=2423557970" target="_blank">Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers</a>

To the best of my knowledge, these are the models with these mirrors:

'75-'91 911, '76-'89 911 TURBO, '78-'91 928, all 924, all 944

Whatcha think??

Sweet! But I am going for the aero look/tear drop mirrors.

I am sure you will not have any trouble at all selling them.

Made these back in like '94 before there was such a thing as rice. At least they have a function.

I thought the purpose of CF was to lighten not add, even though It's minimal, you're still adding weight.

What exactly is their function? Oh, I see it now " protecting them from chips and damage due to road debris, bugs, etc" but I still don't get it. It would probably appeal to people who take form over function but really, you just had a few handfuls laying around?

Honestly, yes. I have a bit of experience with composite structures from both an engineering and a fab standpoint. I've made all kinds of stuff over the years. At one point some friends & I were looking at going into business and we made some runs of various ideas. This is one of those things.

Similar in function to the mirror bras made by Colgan and others. I see those around, so why not?

Weren't people lowering their CRXs and putting tiny wheels with low profs on them and destroying their bearings by having the wheels hang way out past the fenders on their cars in 94?

hehehe yep, that's exactly what was going on, now that you mention it. 12" laced wheels with gold spokes and fake knock-offs. I don't really consider that rice though; I have no idea what that is really

It's a nice product and it looks well made. Don't let the rice talk get you down.

How about making up some front splitters for us turbo guys.
