Post 17.5 mm allen wrench for trans fill plug

Well, this project stopped before I really got started.

Got my Swepco 201, got my 17mm allen adaptor for my socket set, got my pump to re-fill the trans.

What do I find to my suprise!!!!!!the fill plug is bigger than the drain plug. I wondered why the 17mm felt a little "loose" in there. I did try it a little too hard, and kinda rounded a few corners till I figured out what was going on. Tried a little with the vise grips , not really enough to grab onto.

Called the P dealer, no got 17.5 mm allen... Auto parts stores, nada.... Hardware stores for a 17.5 mm nut, double nut or bar stock...zip

I read all the posts, am I left to drill it and use a reversal tool to get it out? Really afraid it will split, fall into trans, or crack the gearbox.

HELP,,,,,Anybody have a 17.5 allen tool, know where to get one or what other ways have you all gotten that @#%*%&^ plug out???

or make me an offer on a gallon of Swepco 201 with a pump!!!!!

Plug has been abused! Both mine come out and go back in with the 17 mm socket tool.

What's the equivalent for 17.5mm in inches?

0.689" 11/16" (0.6875")

Get a short bolt with an 11/16 hex head. Put two
nuts on the bolt, tighten the nuts together, put bolt head in fill plug, tap in with hammer if necessary. Use wrench on nuts to remove plug,
throw away whole contraption and get new plug.
Fill tranny with oil. Install new plug. Pat self
on back for job well done. Drink beer and sit
back and admire the beautiful car.
