Default koni question- are they shot?

Hello,
I was wondering if any of you had experience with externally adjustable koni sport strut inserts (with the little adjuster on top). Mine are about 7 years old, were bought new, and have good compression stiffness, but absolutely no rebound damping. Even after adjusting the top adjuster, no rebound damping at all. Does this mean the shocks are shot? or okay? or is there another way to adjust them (p.s.) I also tried compressing them to adjust like old koni reds but that didnt work. Suggestions?

Thanks
Ron

Probably shot. Is your car lowered?
