Default I found the Saratoga Sunroof guy. Any interest in NEW Saratogas?

Spoke to his wife a few minutes ago. He wasn't home, but he should call back soon.
He sold the company to his ex wife several years ago, who ran it into the ground.

They had no idea the Saratogas were in demand...or such high priced.

So..If I could talk this guy into going back into production...or maybe locating and selling of the original tooling, would anybody be interested?

These are glass right? I would like to know how difficult or practical they would be to produce in Lexan using the same fittings? lighter, safer for de track use and probably a lot cheaper.

Which leads me to my second question: Considering that I just found arecent Saratoga sale on Ebay for nearly $1500, what would people consider a reasonable price for a NEW roof?

Keep in mind, you've got to make it worth him time. $1000? More? Less?

The wife I spoke to thought they were Lexan originally. I'll have to ask him when he calls.

I would be interested if they were under $1k......$750 sounds like about my MAX for that type of non-essential.

It would depend totally on the price.

Does anyone know what they cost new back in the 80's?

i'd be interested, but like TechnoDuck, the very most i'd pay is about $500. that is more asthetic than anything else and despite me really liking my car, it's not getting a saratoga for too much money. like others i have seen the prices on ebay, but somehow if we approach this person and it is something for porsche enthusiasts, then hopefully the price would be more reasonable rather than sales through ebay. but that's my opinion.

-nffn.

I would really love to have one, but only at the right price. Try... less than $500.

The reason they are selling for over $1k is because they are no longer made. I'm sure if production started up the prices would drop considerably.

Awesome investigative job, Wolf!!!

I'm thinking $500-$600 is a realistic price range...under $400?? That's asking too much.
