It is stock internals except WF head gasket. It is a roots style. I am also using teh stock motronic and AFM currently.

The key to my success with it has been IMO making sure I have pulle dtiming via the FQS on std petroleum fuels then when I went up with the boost I have ran E85 almost exclusively. I also use methanol injection to keep it under control at the higher boost levels.

I am currently looking at doing something a little different but I may decid eto throw a big IC on to play with the current car a little longer

I have no problems with the questions

I may however jsut list what is currently working for me and others can try iit if they want so the PM box can be a little less crowded

It has been running for about 3 years now. I just recently upped the boost to beyond where it should be so far so good 18psi on a warm night and 20 on a cold night.

18 on a stock 9.5 motor...jesus. I was thinking about limiting it to around 10 because I thought that might be too much. Guess these things are stouter than I thought (which was damn near bulletproof)

When the time comes for my setup, I've almost set myself upon an Eaton M62 blower, a Vitesse stage III or IV head and MAF. Also a new fuel system, like a high-flow fuel pump (911TT) and 55# injectors. The car will be running on 91 octane (highest I can get). In addition I'll have a high-flow cat (required for CA nazimissions) to really get the air going.

By wide-fire gasket does that mean the victor reinz one that says "turbo" on it? haha..it had some pretty big fire rings around each cylinder port.

Sounds like a good plan

I forgot, I did port the head while is was off. Mostly short side runner work on both int and ex ports.

The list to run 10-12 psi

custom int
36# injectors
adjsustable FPR, lowered FP (it can be done easily)
WF head gasket
Eaton M90
vortech rrfpr (not really needed with these injectors at this boost level)
idler pulley using upper alternator bolt hole and a longer bolt
adjust FQS to postion 7
I used a hommade w/i injection using the widshield washer res and pump and a small nozzle .017 with a 4 psi hobbs switch to activate it. Used ws washer fluid as it contains small amount of methanol
NO IC (should use one )

I really don't want to say what it is using completely right now b/c it hasn't been run at these boost levels for any real time (about a month)

You aren't using the 951 trans or something of the like? I seen a document made by Porsche somewhere stating that the 944 was very successful with supercharging.. I'm surprised you did all that without changing more over.

It might be fun to take a blown turbo motor and rebuild the lower end, slap a spare head on it and see how supercharging worked out. You'd have the advantage of lower compression right off the bat, plus the improved oil cooling and the intercooler....

can you post some pics and some more info about this?

it seems very interesting... I was reading about 3.0 968 engines using a larger/thicker head gasket in order to lower the compression to 9.2 or something, so you might try that too.

keep coming with the info pls.

I think the total build was somewhere around 850. using ebay parts it's beeen awhile so don't quote me.

I found the early models supposedly have forged pistons so maybe that is helping too.

I have a turbo trans on the garage floor for when it goes, 3yrs and 100's of runs and crossing fingers

I bought the car at an auction for 500 and have atotal of about 2200 iin it with new tires

It has ran a 14.09 1/4 mile at 5200ft elevation (see video) no intercoooler and no pure methanol (it runs much faster with it)

I don't know what it runs right now but I am guessing around a low 13 somewhere with the high boost.

AS ar as the takiing a turbo 951 and s/c it...I am getting ready to be very creative with my turbo car over this winter I'll keep both boards posted

Here are a few pics and a drag video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2CzX...e=user&search=

Did you fab your intake manifold? I am starting to get good at TiGing steel, but have yet to try aluminum....

I had a friend do it but from what I understand getting the stock runners hotter was the trick.

I would like to talk to you at length if you don't mind - I may even become an asset to you in exchange for technical assistance ( I am a machinist). Anyway, PM me your phone # sometime so we can chat real time.

I just bought a really nice M-62 with a shorter snout for my 944.

I have that document...they got something like 260lb/ft out of it with a small pulley. I don't have it with me now, I'll check when I get home to see what internals they used (944 or 951 pistons)

Sharky - with your machining ability, if I gave you the measurements for the outlet of the blower and sent you an early intake manifold do you think you could weld them together? I'd really like to keep the long runners on the intake because of the torque benefit they provided out of the box.

I'd be happy to pay for materials and for your services.

Please keep this thread going. I think this is some of the coolest stuff I've ever seen with an NA.

I don't know how to weld aluminum yet.
