Default Looking for 924 Carrera GT/S/R front bumper pads

I posted this up on 924board.org also:

Hey all, I am looking for the little black front bumper squares that go on the 924 Carrera GT/S/R models.
I am doing a this body conversion on my 924S and I have everything except those.
If anyone can get me maybe a part number, that would help cause I can try to order them (long shot)

BTW, they are NOT the same as the ones on euro 924/944's front bumpers!

I would contact SunSet and see if they could still order it. I actually do believe they are still available, someone on the 924Board forum put the CGT front on his car and i remember he posted something about the pads i think. Ill look it up..

Thanks Jon
The 924board.org search function doesn't really work...

And sorry, but who is SunSet? I have never ordered from them

Disregard the part about the guy on the 924Board..he was actually looking for them. For the hell of it, ask SunSet how much the factory front valance is...

SunSet is a dealer out of Oregon..

http://www.sunsetimports.com/go/atcost/dcost.php

They sell parts at cost, a good source for the obscure euro parts...my local dealer usually dosent want to be bothered with ordering euro parts. Also a good source for the 968 mirrors and door handles.

Okay, I'll call them. Just for kicks, where did you get the part numbers from?

RoW PET for the 924.

Did you get the front clip on yet? Which piece did you use? How was fitment? The guy i was talking about on the 924Board forum was flakey and ripped a few people off. He did post a couple of pics of the GT Racing one fitted..said it was alot of work, mainly the mounting area was not long enough and the gaps around the fender / nose panel needed some work. I thought about doing something like the CGT front valance one day, its the route less taken instead of doing a 951 front clip.

Edit - I actually asked my other local-ish dealer what the cost of a rear fiberglass euro bumper would be. He said he could get one from Germany for somewhere in the are of $350 shipped..but it would take a month to get here. $25 extra and he could have it in a week. Now i bet the 937 front clip is 100x more rare, but makes me wonder if its around the same price of the fiberglass. Id pay a bit of a premium for a poly urethane front over fiberglass. I ground out enough around town.

Man I am such a tool.
I have PET installed, but I remembered looking for it and those parts not being there, but damn, found all the parts in like 5 mins.

The front bumper I have is from A.I.R., which I got off ebay.

I was worried about fitment also, but it was way easier than I thought.

The only difficult part was on the front fenders, where the little curve is.
The curve on the bumper did not match, but 15 minutes of dremel work fixed that.

Ignore my bent headlight covers and my whole front end is misaligned, not due to the front bumper though.
When I put on my 944 fenders and vented nose, I put the fenders on first and then the nose piece, so it was off.
I did not notice it until later, thats why the gaps between the headlightsand nose panel are not the same.

The bumper itself I think sags a little in the middle, but nothing that can't be fixed.
Overall the glass work is very sturdy, mine is only supported by the mounts at the fenders.

I am very paranoid about someone bumping the front and am very careful where I park.

The only thing I don't like is how the A.I.R. piece has three bars at the bottom, where the real CGT doesn't.
I am thinking about cutting those bars out and maybe adding some supports inside the bumper.
We'll see.

I finally got my Euro driving lights and turn signals last week too.

I'll ask for sure. Let ya know. I'm thinking somewhere around $2000.

I am in talks with plyhammer to buy his fuchs. I know a deal when I see one.
They are in Ohio. Like I said before, all the best parts turn up in Ohio.
