Yah i would not recomend using teh spare tire, you know 20 years or so of rubeer degredations..i just keep a can o fix of flat and my AAA card .

Just curious.. up until recently i put my spare tire back into my car for peace of mind knowing i wouldnt be stranded somewhere. I recently thought about it though.. i dont even think the spare tire would fit on my car anymore. I now have turbo calipers and rotors.. can only use 16's. The spare i have is the one that came with the car.. has a 477 prefix part # (thats a VW part aint it)..defenetley not a 16-inch spare either.....i took that sucker out yesterday for good!

I have my triple A card, will get a can of fix-o-flat and usually am not far away enough from home that calling a friend to pick me up is out of the question. Not to mention i dont even think the scissor jack will fit under my car with how low it is now.

I assume the 944 Turbo's got there own unique spare.

just so i don't like an ******* to everyone, i just found it in my attic. i took it out a long time ago because i put a 6 channel amplifier back there to power my speakers. my dad had stored the spare in the attic after we moved to our new house along with extra 3.0L turbo conversion parts. i was cleaning out everything and just came across the tire in the corner.

i told roger he can have it free if he pays shipping, but if he doesn't want it i'll post back here with an update.

I have actually used mine,I was amazed to see it inflate,and it got me home, though not that fast, but still it did the job!
