Default Water pump prices...wholesale supplier found.

Don't know if this will help anyone or not...
Called a few places for pricing on a new 924S waterpump. Manufactured by Laso, who is an OEM supplier for Porsche, it seems. $209 was the lowest new price I found, untill a minute ago.
Doing a search for Laso led me to this:

Don't know if these are Laso pumps or not, but you can bet I'll give them a call.

I've also located the Laso company, in case anybody wants this information.

Is this the 951 updated pump, or is this specific for 924S?

Now that I'm not sure. I'll have to ask when I call. However, the place I spoke to today said that Laso made an updated pump...so I'd assume you'd have your choice.
I'll also be calling Laso directly to see about direct prices.

In my line of work, I often have to source parts and go to the original manufacturers for specific parts. If anyone here would like to locate original manufacturer contact information and is having a hard time doing so, I'd be glad to help.

I just called them. The pumps are LASO and original OEM (2 different pumps). They do have the updated pumps...or... a "blockoff kit" to update them. Don't know what he meant by that though.

Well, the deal with the updated 951 pumps, is first of all tehy are 951 pumps, meaning they have an extra outlet to go to the intercooler (or turbo, not sure). You need a blockoff plate to block that outlet, so that it works right on an NA.

Looks like Laso makes the updated pump

is this for an updated or not updated? Without the update kit, the waterpump should be anywhere around 105-125 depending on your source. The update kid (which I highly recommend you get) runs about 60 dollars.

No problem, we both posted at the same time.
I just emailed Laso and asked if it's possible to purchase parts directly from them, and what the approximate parts cost and shipping charges to the US would be.
I'm not sure about the automotive industry, but my industry typically has a 100% markup whole wholesale/direct cost to retail cost.
Anyone know how much a water pump weighs? I ship and get a lot of stuff from Germany, and it's usually not all that expensive.

I'd say the pump weighs about 5 lbs. I just got one for the 928 in the mail and it weighed about 4.

Laso has suggested a company called Worldpac, and said the cost of shipping a waterpump to the US might be too expensive.
Worldpac deals in wholesale...which would mean a considerably lower cost.

Most of the parts I get through my mechanic come through Worldpac. Everything from bearings, seals, to the reference/speed sensors.

If you love your mechanic, keep him as the middleman.
