Default Favorite seats in your 944/951

I'm thinking of upgrading from my stock 944 seats, but to another set of stock seats, not a hard race seat.

Lately I've been working in a shop where we have alot of interior pieces, from 911's to 924's.

I was looking at my choices the other day and I wondered what all of your favorites for seats to put in your cars are, or different interior peices and little things like inside.

I know it's kind of random, but I'm fairly new here!

I have Cobra seats in my cars (and truck). I felt they were the best made, but they are not cheap...

Which model 944 have you got ? If you want to stick with stock Porsche seats then I would recommend 944 Turbo ones (if you can find any for sale!), just as comfy as regular 44 seats but with additional side support.

I believe these pictured below are 944 turbo or possibly 911 items.

The seat below is what I have in mine, suprisingly comfortable, but obviously not original !

I have the factory sport seats in mine. They are very expensive to get nowadays, but the best bet is probably to get some in sub-par condition and recover them.

StevePH, those are the optional sport seats, you could get them in any 944/951/911 of that era. I had 8 way power heated full leather sport seats in my old 944, they were a $1200 option in 85.5 IIRC.

These continued into the 968 model, changing sometime in 94 into the same type used in the 993's, with curved stitching. A set just sold on ebay for $1200, which was dirt cheap.

I've been looking for a set of those seats for my '83 NA. I'm not sure that I want to pay $1200 for them and then probably have to fork over another $1200 for good leather covers as well.

On a similar topic, who supplies really good upholstery kits for a 944 without charging the same price as the dealer?

I agree completely - it is NOT cheap to have this done though. I just had my 944 ones professionally redone with OE pads and skins. The results are amazing but expensive as hell. It'll be several weeks (probably a couple of months) before I can afford paying those off!

If he had the 993 seat pattern I bet those seat recover kits would sell like hot cakes.
