Ski Rack for 944
Anybody know if there is a ski rack available for S2's? The manual is vague, recommending only a "Genuine Porsche Roofrack". I just wanna go skiing... Any ideas?

I have a Thule system for my 944S2 to transport my track wheels to events. Works fantastic!
I bought the system about a year and a half ago - not sure if they still have the boot adapter for the 944 cars.

Z-man: no kidding... what Thule system did you get? And how was installation? Any drilling involved? I have also seen those "clip on" ski carriers that attach to the passenger side window (but not a real fan of that). Do tell...

Both Sam Lin and I picked up a set of ski racks off of eBay that attaches to the rear hatch area -- two attachment points, one to the driver-side top hatch bolts and a second at the bumper. Will accept two pairs of skis (no snowboard). They are not from the factory, but was a dealer option (some manufacturer the pre-dates Thule and Yak racks).
I'll let mine go for $50 plus ship -- let me know if you're interested.
Sam lives in AZ, I live in SoCal -- neither location has seen snow since the Ice Ages.
Though honestly, the cargo area is plenty big enough for skis and snowboards.

I have a set of OEM Porsche roof racks. They are a very nice fit. Yes they mount to the screw holes under the hatch area.
I'd let them go for $200. I think I used them once before getting a wagon with a roof rack.

Check with any sport shop that carries the Thule systems, and see if they can order the adapter kit for the 944. IIRC, there were only a few of the adapters left when I ordered mine!

That rack *kind of* looks like the one I used to see on the back of the performance Products catalogue years back... it rides 2 skis withteh contour of the hatch, right?
I always thought it looked cool like that! Sort of James-Bond ish?
