He just dropped $20,000.00 on a new GTi, and for some reason has the nerve to compare a 1987 924S to his brand new GTi and say his is better....

First off, to that I say "no sh*t. it's 17 years newer."

Then he goes to say that the 924 and the 914 are the only 2 cars that Porsche ever tried to buy back from every customer, and I should get rid of my P.O.S. and get something worth driving. To that I said something to the effect of, "ya see Noah, a 924S is not something you'll see every day. Whereas a GTi is an economy car on steroids."

Anyway, for some god unknown reason, he's fighting to the death that Porsche tried to buy back the 924 and 914... Anyone wanna help disprove this porsche-hating bastard?

P.S. He also told me that the 924S isn't a Porsche cuz it cost me $3,000.00 as opposed to $80,000.00 he is reason #2 that I hate my job and am quitting in less than a week...

MK4 GTI owners usually have huge sticks up their asses. I go to a lot of VW meets in my area, and there are usually 2 groups there. The MK4 guys who talk about street racing and tinting tailights, and the early VW guys who talk about engine swaps, and auto-x setups. Some of the MK4 guys are alright, but the majority think that GTIs are the ****, and that everything else sucks. It's ironic that they make fun of ricers so much, because most of them do the same stuff - Tinting tailights, Ghetto cold-air intakes from heater hose, cut springs...etc. Punch him in the face.

Just start calling him assclown EVERY time you see him. No matter what his comeback, just shrug your shoulders, look him straight in the face.....and say "assclown" and walk off. I did that to one of my old co-workers everyday for a week..........he didn't show up for work the next Monday.

Everywhere i go i get assheads like this. There is a guy at my school with an ugly *** 1984 thunderbird or something. Ugliest thing on wheels, he tries to convice me everyday that his is better than mine.

I've never had a problem with somone saying bad things about 944s. Most everyone I know is like "A porsche? Must be nice." I also don't know many ricer types...

Usually, I'll just say something along the lines of "Ok." or "If you say so." If I feel particularily argumentitive, I'll say "I'd have bought a GTI if that's what I wanted. But it's not, so I didn't." The best way to get under the skin of an asshat like that is to prove to him that I really don't give a ****.

That's why I sold a well prepped Miata I drove for 8 years. Got real tired of hearing "It's a Chick Car" Then after UD Prides remark under the "Do you wave thread?" about the 2 f**gs in the Miata I knew had I had made the right decision...no looking back.

I agree with Beer. The best way to deal with these guys is to just act like you could care less. Or just agree with everything they say.

If someone said that to me, Id just say :

"Yeah man that GTI is awesome. Theres a lot of good cars out there. M3s. 911s. S4s. Id have probably bypassed those too and gone GTI. Thats how good that car is. I mean the lines are classic you know. And its German. The thing fricking flies doesnt it. Wow that paint is incredible. Is that a respray? That ****s not factory is it? God. Your car is built like a friggin bullet. I bet you pick on everybody. I got a guy down the street with a 944 Turbo S. Ive love to take your car for a day and absolutely rip him a new *******. He probably wouldnt even see the tailights huh. Yah. Anyway, I gotta go change clothes. I gotta do a bridal shower in an hour. Later."

dude, i have a jetta 1.8T, and i have lowered it on eibachs and koni's. that car, like the GTI is nothing compared to yours. i would rip my jetta a new ******* with my porsche. he has a lot of porsche envy, and very typical of MKIV v-dub owners. this is one reason why i am always on rennlist, instead of some of the vw forums (except 20vturbo which is a great place to hang ou). dont worry about it, he's going to feel bad when he gets the recall notices and his windows fall into his doors....you got a better ride....plus, the new MKV is a way better car than his MKIV. he's just jelous.
