Hi, I am helping a buddy out who has had this car in a warehouse for over 30 years, it is a 1981 924 Turbo Carrera GTS (yup one of the 59 ) his family has owned it from new. I am looking for a wiring diagram for that car, unfortunately the factory shop manuals I have do not list the vehicle or that ignition system....Would anyone have anything on this car? I am more than happy to buy anything I can get that will help get this little beast running and on the track.....Thanks, Ken kenlovejoy@yahoo.com

There was a large volume of documentation that came with a friend's GTS, which has long since moved on to another owner. I do not recall whether it had wiring charts. Worth checking with other owners.

Your friend might also want to check with Porsche Classic for support. Good luck!

Porsche Classic is the best place to ask . They have given me a lot of help and advice with my 88 924S restoration and I am sure for this ultra rare GTS car they will be more than happy to do and help much more !!!! Post some pics of this car if you can , they are ultra rare !!!!

Very cool car! 49 ever made and 15 of those in the Club Sport spec which is really one of or even THE most lightened street registered car Porsche has ever produced. It also had 275hp and a few of them had drysump. When new this was Porsches fastest car even faster than the 930 which is pretty cool!

Regular GTS 245hp I think.

As far as I know the wiring should be identical to the 924 turbo.
The 924 Carrera GT has the same wiring, its probable that the GTS is the same.
Go to 924board.org and ask there, or https://porsche924.co.uk/forum/ create an account and ask.
Both places are packing with 924 knowledge and a few of us own GTs or GTSs so your chance to fix the problem is highest on those two forums.

Anyway, is this car going to be used on the track? did I get that right? Your friend must be really rich as these cars fetch 200k + these days.

We have sorted most of the stuff out on the car, but, a copy of that manual would really help....Would you be willing to sell it or sell a copy of it ? I have tried Porsche Classic and a lot of other places, no help for this cool car.

Nice. This is a factory 937 CGTS, correct?

That engine compartment has subtle differences from the 937 CGT. If not mistaken, the CGT was fitted with a TMIC over the cam housing which was fed cooling air via the iconic hood scoop. This CGTS appears to be sporting a FMIC, ala 951. Did all CGTS leave the factory fitted with a [937-specific?] FMIC?

Subtle? yes that could be said :P

GTS has a different intake manifold, obviously FMIC (all GTS were FMIC), different fuel injection..coming from a V8 and coolant expansion tank.

I've said this before...please don't feel anything than corrected...but the GTS came first and the 951 after...so the 951 has the FMIC ala GTS It does not matter but I've noticed before someone saying that the 944 is like a Miata...surely enough one has to keep in mind the order of appearance when making comparisons :P
