I recently got a 87 924s auto for a really good deal....paint is garbage.I love the car but i feel like it could use a few ponies.How hard would it be to piece together a turbo set up or is there some bolt ons i could do to satisfy me for now (nothing to expensive)pls give a go with how much it was

There is no good answer to your quest for "moe powa" because there are no inexpensive ways to do it.

Instead, enjoy the car as it is, learn to really drive it well, and upgrade to a 944 turbo when the opportunity arrives.

A Manual gearbox 924S, will be quicker, or go for a 944 3.0.

Sure you can modify and tune the engine 2.5 engine for a proper noticeable effect start with a $3000 budget and work your way upwards !

no point trying to mod a n/a auto car. enjoy it and as previously stated go for a turbo when ready.

I disagree, there are and always will be plenty of Demand to tune and obtain more power from a Normally aspirated engine.

Turbo really is not always or ever the answer.

Digressing slightly but even F1 is now considering ditching the Turbo Engines and going back to srceaming normally aspirated V10's.

The NEw Red Bull F1 designers (Adrian Newey) road car project with Aston Martin is set to use a Normally aspirated V12, the infamous McLaren F1 also uses a N/A and many more quick cars.

You'll see on this forum not to mention many others the debate between
Turbo v N/A and neither party will budge an inch. The turbo lovers just want a dramatic kick in the back Whoosh bang wallop sensation and love giving out big BHP numbers, unyet the costs and setting up issues can put many off and the power delivery can cause many handling and wheelspin issues etc...

The N/A lovers will argue this type of Engine has much more controllable Instant torque and throttle response, no complicated fueling and ignition requirements and many characteristics that make the car drive so well and feel nice to handle.

Hence why McLaren did not fit some 3.2 V6 twin turbo Engine to the F1, but a 6.1 litre V12

So you may be refering to the AUTO Engine is not good to tune George?, but I'd be 99.9% sure if you drove my 205bhp 1040kg 924S 2.7 You'd change your mind very quickly and declare a Normally aspirated Porsche transaxle modified is quite something and there's actually no need to go to an erratic Turbo delivery.
