Default torque tube noise?

I have a '88' 924s and it makes a rattling noise on decel at lower speed after it is warmed up. It sounds like a heat shield but i have not been able to find the source. Could it be coming for the torque tube? I had the same condition with my 951 and never did find the source.

How long has this been happening? What gear oil is in your box? How long/many miles has it been there? With the clutch engaged or disengaged? Has anyone else listened to this rattle?

Rattle at idle, in neutral, with clutch engaged is usually a throw out bearing. Rattle on decal, in gear, with clutch engaged could be torque tube bearings, ring & pinion, or gear box bearings.

Would attempt to record the sound and reach out to Kevin Gross.
