I have one of these cars, and have had two others, not for the faint of heart! Most of these cars get abandoned and lay in wait for it's next owner. The old Bosch mechanical fuel system does not like to sit idle. The fuel distributor can be rebuilt for some real coin. In it's current state, the fuel might have turned into varnish from sitting. There's a little plunger that operates with the mechanical air metering plate. The plunger regulates the control pressure of the unit, along with the WUR. This is where the varnish comes into play.

The engine miss could be low compression in a cylinder, spark related, etc. A can of seafoam or other cleaner is not going to turn this into a silk purse. Check out 924.org for more information.

Flush the fuel tank, check both fuel pumps (internal & external), check the accumulator, change the fuel filter - then you're ready to have the warm-up valve and fuel distributor cleaned. I'm still getting there...
