Are you sure it is an '89 924S?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_924

See http://www.clarks-garage.com/ for basic info.

An '88 is preferred with 10 more HP.

I've owned 2 since '96

There is no such thing as 1989 924S. They only made them as '87 and '88 model. The odometer on this models are up to 99, 999 then it goes back to 00000 so the 66,000 could mean that it already went around, not unless they have a valid documentation. Mine is 1, 600 which just went around.

Wow!! You have had this how long and just now getting into it? I understand life happens but this would have been eating at me!! Congrats on the car. Hope it turns out to be a fun project for you! I have an '87 924S in Georgetown, Texas and while it is a 'normal' car - it is still a lot of fun.
