Default FS: 1980 924 Turbo (931) - SoCal

1980 924 turbo (931) with 64K on the odometer (I suspect a rollover). It runs well and does not leak any fluids or smoke. There is good compression in each cylinder and the air/fuel has been professionally set at a shop. The tags are current (CA Nov. 2008) and it has a clean title. There are no modifications and all replacement parts are OEM (except the catalytic converter). I have driven it 50 miles per day in traffic for about 4 months now with no problems. Excellent cold and hot starting, engine stays cool and is very reliable. I absolutely hate to part with the car and I cannot bring myself to part it out since I just got it back together and running so well. $2100.00 FIRM and I break even, and you enjoy.

You can see pictures of the car here:

I have listed the new parts and the issues below. E-mail me with any questions! I cannot ship the car, so you will have to come get it in Fullerton, CA 92831

New parts:

4 Kumho Ecsta tires
front Boge strut inserts, upper bearings and all control arm bushings
timing belt and tensioner
drive belts, valve cover gasket
water pump and lower radiator hose
ALL vacuum hoses
air filter, spark plugs and wires
distributor cap and rotor
O2 sensor
catalytic converter (aftermarket)
all exhaust and turbo gaskets and back up rings, studs, nuts and bolts
fuel pumps (internal and external)
fuel accumulator and filter
fuel injectors cleaned and flow matched by witchhunter
ALL shift bushings
main radiator cooling fan
silver exterior paint (Maaco)
carpet and upholstery (the passenger seat has a small tear in the fabric)
blaupunkt speakers (all three) and Sony CD Player
dash cap, headlights, interior light

Issues:

Transmission is a bit tricky with its worn synchros, particularly in second, but with a little practice you will acclimate. It will eventually need attention.

Both doors have had their hinges welded to the body, and this causes the doors to close a little rough.

The rear hatch frame has separated from the glass and leaks.

Rear wiper does not work (open circuit between the fuse box and the switch, motor OK)

The climate controls need attention. The central fan is shorted to ground and the levers are all difficult to operate. There is a hose broken in the A/C system between the condenser and the compressor. (I have another hose (included), but have not installed it yet, and have thus not tested the integrity of the A/C system)

There are other minor issues that can be expected from a car of this age, so look at the pictures carefully and contact me with questions. I will be happy to help!

This is a pretty nice looking example. I wish you weren't so far from MI. You should post this in the FS forum at 924board.org.

Man, that's a beautiful example! Sure you don't want to drive it to the Great Lakes ;-) Good luck with the sale, looks like it'll make a fine addition to someone's collection...wish it were mine!

Yep I could be interested too but to have this car shipped to Quebec City would cost close to the selling price ! Grrrrrr....
