Since you are now counting early 924s, count me and my 1980 in.

I picked up my '88 924S (Black/Red) with approx. 40K miles a few weeks ago. The car is in fantastic condition, so much so that I'm sorry that I'm about to strip the interior to turn it into a racer.

Tim,

This first year it will serve as a DE and autoX car. Once I get the car and my driving skills up to speed then I'll consider wheel-to-wheel. There are lots of options here in the Southeast; GTS, PCA, SCCA.

I'm sure there's a NASA chapter around there too. Gather up some other 944 drivers and start your own group. That's what I did in SoCal. Good luck with your racing!

Patricia, what color was your 88 924S? What interior did it have? I saw it listed in the 924 register, and the vin falls very close to the SE cars.

Oh yeah, to the point of the original post, I have 3 924S series cars in my posession. One 88, two 87s

I have an 88 924 S LE. Bought from an old friend who terrorized the AX community in the NE for years. Has 81/K on it and runs great. Even though it is rare (500 made in 88) I've converted it to pretty much a track car now with roll bar, seats, belts and some suspension work but is still street legal. May take it Club Racing in the Spring. J-3 Motorsports does the work for me and is currently developing bladed sway bars based on their bars for the GT3 RSR's they have campaigned. We should find out how they work after the Road Atlanta DE in January.

chris, what are the last 5 digits of your vin#? I am compiling a list of SE cars to figure out the span of the production run, and where individual owners cars fall in the production run. Thanks!

I have an 88 924S with 140K+ miles. It's my winter daily driver and is used for the occasional autoX or DE. Great car and cheap until something breaks!!
