Default brutus the 916

It is being reassembled now you can see pics on the 914club.com website.

You may or may not know that this was the very first 916 and actually had a 914-6 serial number. It was mrs. Piech's personal car and she named it Brutus because of the tremendous brute power from the 2.9 mechanically injected engine installed into the car

no the silver Peter Gregg Brumos silver 916 is here in the showroom, this is the first one the black one that was the prototype 916 actually having a 914-6 serial number 9141430195. You can see pics on the 914club.com. I am not very good at posting photos so with the time constraints, decided to post them on 914club only. George

It's actually really easy to post pictures if you use the square in the toolbar with the mountain range and sun in it.

Then they don't have to be of a certain size and will be automatically scaled for you. Clicking on it opens a dialog box to browse your PC or mobile for the photo you want to add, uploads it, and then you just hit the insert button at the top right.

Looked at the first couple pix and almost aspirated when I saw 4 bolt Mahle wheels on the thing!! Saw your explaination- seemed like a lot of trouble just to move the chassis around.

Got some great pix my BIL took of Gregg's car at the infield at Daytona WAY back when- so that car is in Atlanta as well???

we put the car on a rotisserie, so had it completely dismantled to a bare body shell. We then took the suspension so we could dismantle it and have everything powder coated. Our body shop after painting the underneath needed something to roll it around, so went outside and removed suspension from one of our 147 914 donor cars and installed it on the 916 with a few bolts, hence the four lug suspension. The five lug perfectly restored original is on the car now.

Yes we have the silver 916 here in what we call our trophy case along with the gemini blue metallic m 471, the so called "last" six, the sportomatic six, the 5400 mile willow green 71, the excellence mag 5100 mile 70 six, and the vwporsche retro concept car, six number 9142430257.

The four cylinder 914s are in the other case. It is my life's work and I am very proud of my collection

latest brutus pictures, it has been slow go on this one, we did not take it apart and many of the nuts and bolts were missing. Thankfully here at headquarters we have all of the parts new and used so the search is not so bad. Also installing the headliner is a thing that we could only do 11 times in a lifetime!!!!!

Nice- the front cooler set up looks clean too. I remember seeing a black 6 of Chuck Stoddard's many years ago at a Parade that had very subtle flares front and rear. Had the Italian clear front turn signal lenses that looked great so I got some from them- they look great on a silver car.
Hopefully you'll drive that thing and not just let it sit in a "case."

dr914, do you plan to have Brutus on display at Werks Reunion Friday at Amelia Island? I plan to visit Friday but don't know if I can make it on Sunday.

Thanks for your reply on 914club. I'll try to return on Sunday to admire Brutus.
