We (MSDS) provided some swag for the last OcteenerFest...and the organizers said that it was one of the best in the Raffle. Need to ship more swag to the next event !

...It will be one of the hottest 914s on the planet; maybe the first 9146 I've ever seen that utilized Bi-coastal bodyshops !!

Yeah....not the high point of the restoration. But Kent's skills are beyond anything I have ever seen- and I worked in a body shop as a young kid when guys still did lead work on cars. Were it not for Kent, Jim, Andy and Bob stepping up to the plate my Six would have likely been a stalled, never finished project car. I expect to be posting some pictures very soon as my car goes from Kent's to Jim's. But really, it's a pretty stock restoration with a 3.2 added so nothing to get anyone really excited. Most people looking at the car will never know it has been enhanced a bit. It's amazing the way the project evolved. Initially I was going to do a GT flared, all-out street car. Then after reading and listening to a lot of people decided to keep it narrow-bodied. Finally, it was Kent, Jim, Andy and Bob that walked me back to pretty stock in all ways except the aforementioned 3.2.

Gotta try and find a picture of when one of my best friends and I drove a very early euro model 914 (just before they were introduced in the USA) from Minneapolis to Cedar Rapids IA for the opening of the new Porsche+Audi dealer in my hometown. A good friend of mine was one of the P cars mechanics at the new dealership and they need "volunteers" to drive the car down to Iowa. It was in the middle of the winter but we didn't care.
The car was a 4 with appearance group and if I remember correctly a darker blue. Had the Wolfsburg crest on the steering wheel and the VW-Porsche script on the back. We were in college at the time and the trip was a great break from studying!!

Got my 914 from the same dealer about a year later... 49 years and still going strong!
