Default Quality 914 Machine Shop Referral Needed!

I live in Carlsbad, CA and am in the middle of a '76 914 2.0 resto project. I need a trusted, high quality machine shop with 914 experience with reasonable rates. Anywhere in so-cal would work... any ideas? Thanks

If its engine work you might try Fat Performance, right in your home state.

I would suggest Frank & Kits in San Bernardino. The owner and lead mechanic there are both Porsche guys (the lead mechanic is a big 914 guy). They've worked on my Boxster, 951 and 914 over the years.

Actually, my 914 will be heading back there this week for them to finish the resto I am doing. I am beyond thrilled with the work they have done rebuilding the motor and initial re-assembly.

Thanks - I'll look them up. They do machining?

They have another shop that they work closely with for most of the machining. From the minor machining that my motor required, their work appears to be top-notch. I know the shop owner, Frank, is having his 911 motor rebuilt and has sent it to the same machining shop, if that is any indication of the quality.
