Does anyone know what the original tyres were on a 914?

Original wheels on early 914's were 4 1/2 X15 or 5 1/2 X 15 and both had 165-15 if equipped with steelies. "Mag" wheels also had 165's as I still have the original tire on the Fuchs spare of my '73 though I don't use it as the car has upgraded suspension with 5 bolt Fuchs.

Better to use Vredestein Classic 165-15.
I use them on my old Alfa Romeos and they perform beautifully !!
Also, not expensive.....

I still own and have mounted on it's original spare wheel ( steel mag style ) the original brand new tire in a 165 R 15. It has never been on the ground.

On this particular car it was a Michelin. A 1974 - 2.0 litre four.

an original never hit the ground spare certainly increases the value of your 914. You could probably sell an original with factory alloy wheel easily for 500 dollars! Hopefully you have the original owners manual emissions booklet window sticker tool kit and bill of sale?

The Pirelli Cinturato range is available in the States from Lucas Classsic Tires http://www.lucasclassictires.com/165...165pirelli.htm

If you want other brands you can get them off https://www.borrani.com/other-models...che-911-t.html where they also sell wire wheels for Porsche if you like

I also have a steel spare with the original tire according to the first owner. It is a 62k original mile car though I bought from the original owner.

Steel wheels on the car have almost no finish left, spare looks great.
