Looking to buy a very nice car. Prefer original survivor car but open to a repaint of an original car. Prefer documented history and below avg miles. Willing to wait and pay the price for the right car. Leads appreciated.

some of the consignment places in Pano and Excellence have had 6's listed lately but NO price... may take a while but you'll probably have to look at lot of them to find a good one, unless you're really lucky.

Thanks. I checked out Excellence and will continue to do so. Not familiar with Pano. What is it? Thanks again.

Wait!!! Am I reading your signature correctly? Is it true that you own 1 too many 914's? I'll be happy to consider lightening your load by purchasing either of those cars.

Must not be a PCA member- Pano is Panorama, the monthly member magazine. Recently the editor moved from Excellence to Pano and it has improved IMMENSELY!!
Check out 914world- more active than the 914 forum here...
Sorry, my 914's aren't for sale- will stay in the family long after I'm gone. Both my sons inherited the car gene from their dad and grandfather...

I could go for a Tiger too- a friend in high school had ( I think he still has it BTW) and that was a "cheap" and smaller Cobra! Actually I have the hots for an Austin Healy 100-4- one of these days!
Actually PCA is worth it now for the magazine alone... been a member for 43+ years- lots of Pano's in the attic!

Two very nice cars, Hal. I've now expanded my thinking to a 912 but so far the 914 just keeps tugging at me. Will keep looking. There is a 914-6 on ebay right now. Looks like a nice car but bid up to $60k already and has had previous rust repair...although seems to have been done right.

Not likely to find a 914, Six or otherwise, that has not had some rust repair. The thing is to make sure it was done correctly and not shade-tree bodyman style work. I would want to see before, during and after pictures to know they correctly repaired any rust. There are some very nice Sixes that pop up from time to time for sale but the clean, nice ones are likely going to run 50-60K and the real nice ones more than that. I have a '71 Six so I am biased and love the Six.

Definitely hold out for a rust free car- they're out there but it takes a lot to find one. I bought mine last October in the high desert of California. It has no rust at all (I know I'll be called a liar for making that statement but it's been torn down completely and I have yet to find the tin worm anywhere). If you know what to look for, you can fairly well guess how much rust the car has. Finding a porsche guy you can trust to buy from (like I did) certainly helps

Hi Steve-I have what I would consider one of the nicest 914's in the US...a 1974 2.0 that you would have to see to appreciate. If you are ever in Virginia you are welcome to see it.

Sounds like a great car. Unfortunately I don't make it to Virginia but could swing by that way if I were flying in to look at a car to purchase
