Its a 914 alright.

How much does a 914 Windshield cost? Can you even get one? Interesting aircleaner too.

Check under those carpets for more rust.. same with the weatherstripping seals, trunks. battery box etc.

What would you be doing with the car? Restore? build a race car?

I had a malaga red '76 for a short spell. Fun car.. a little underpowered (in '76 the 2.0 was rated at only 86hp!)

Restoring it for a sunday driver. Have pics under carpet they seem fine, no surface rust, but as we know it's the hidden stuff that kills. And yes how hard is it to find a 914 front window?

You can find the glass, I would get more pictures of the important stuff. You took pictures of the trunks, but you didn't take anything out of trunk. How do they look? I would be more concerned with the floorboards under the car then in the car. Could be interesting, I am surprised the seller didn't clean it up a little before you looked at it. Offer him $2,800K and see what he says, I think $3,500 is high. I doubt that car has 38K on it, I think that car has been around once and I think that lowers the price a great deal.

UPDATED: I don't know what I had truck instead of trunk.

Like Jay said, the windshield is no big deal. The car is dirty, but looks like it might be ok. I'd like to see more pictures of the trunks, behind the seats, under the battery, bottom of the firewall, etc.

Morning.
We have more pics of under carpets etc in trunk area, and there is no rust, just couldnt post any more pics says im out of space, I could send pics via email if anyone is interested. Were in Canada, and this car is in Montana, so the pics we have are what the seller sends us. Thinking of offering between 3000-3200... But its a long drive to pick up junk, but also there is alot of over priced 914 outhere, that look alot worse than this one.

Is it worth the flight to go see it first? Ask Matt about a trip to Florida from NH that he returned from empty handed.

Don't get me started on going to FL for a peice of crap car AA said was great.

I think the price sounds reasonable if the car has no/little rust. Even for a long haul, if it's what you want, go for it!
