Default Have you ever installed seats that don't fit the backpad?

wondering if any members have ever installed after-market seats in their 914s that didn't exactly fit the back pad...

I'm looking at some from GTS Classics, and that seems to be the trade-off when opting for a seat that's relatively easy to get in and out of.

thoughts?

Yes.. and no.. I've put in a Scheel seat before, but its contours were similar to the stock seats, in terms of fitting the existing back pad openings. I've also removed the back pad on another car, installed a perlon carpet and then installed Kirkey race seats. Unless you need the seat to occupy the backpad space (ie, you are really really tall) maybe it shouldn't be an issue how it fits.

* the Scheel seat we had is similar to the GTS Nurburgring seat or their Hockenheim seat.

One thing about both the Scheel and the Kirkey was noticing just how much more challenging it made exiting the car with a large side bolster.
