How do you replace the Rear bumper center license panel?
Hello All,
I want to replace the the center license panel on my 69' 912. The previous owner installed some kind of fiberglass piece with fake 74-89 bumperettes, which looks hideous.
The original part is easy to get but I am having trouble finding a tutorial on how to install it on the car. I wish one of you can point me in the right direction.
Happy Memorial Day!
Cheers.

Its just a series of bolts.
You must remove the bumperettes (bolt on) which then slide off of metal brackets revealing the brackets. Then the original panel has small bolts on the left & right lower corners attaching it to the left & right bumper pieces. The bumperettes nearly hold the whole piece in place.

I -just- bought a '67 912 today where the previous owner did something similar. See attached image. It's awful, so I'm also in the process of trying to figure out exactly what pieces I need. See pic here: http://take.ms/BOTrw
