today started great, got the call from my body shop and he is ready for my 912, stripping it down and doing a complete repaint.

started the car and there was a clicking sound at the back left corner of the car, did not sound like an engine noise, after about 30-40 seconds it smoothed out and went away. car was running great when i noticed it seemed to lose power, down shift and it seemed to drive fine, no noise etc. got off the interstate where i was rolling at 60-65mph and when i was slowing down i clearly felt it losing power, pulled into a gas station and the car went dead. no smoke, no noise,no leakes, etc.

i tried to start it and there was dead silence, not even a click, any ideas

Well... My 1st thought is that the generator belt let go (that was the noise). Then you rolled along with no belt and just on battery power until the battery went dead. I would assume the engine got hotter as the fan would not be turning either. Now you need to charge the battery & replace the belt.

I hope it is that simple for you.
