I'm working on a back date project for my son on a '83 SC and he likes the look of the early 912 polished interior rear view mirror.

The are 3 mounting holes at the end of the stem of the mirror. Is there a separate mount anchor?

I'd appreciate if someone could take a digital picture of the stem mount and post it?

I took this when I was installing the new headliner.

There indeed is a "boss" under the headliner that the factory placed for the mount. Three screws.

So just to be clear, underneath the headliner there are three holes that can be used to mount this older style mirror?

Think those are there on the 964/993 cars too? Or just G body's?
