Default 1968 Engine Detail Project

Since my 1968 Porsche 912 was formerly repainted by Spirit of Excellence in Lewisburg, TN, I took it back to them during the winter for one minor additional project. While it was in their automotive restoration shop, I learned that my car had been accepted into the Ault Park Concours d’Elegance this year. Since it has been regularly driven, I decided to have Spirit of Excellence go ahead and remove/detail the engine for me before the show coming up on June 8th. Take a look at the pictures from this project…amazing work! Spirit of Excellence is owned and operated by Jamie Hery Jr. (610-324-2252). He has successful completed bare metal, ground-up restorations on a variety of vintage automobiles over the years. However, the past eight significant projects have all been classic Porsches including 356, early 911 and 912. Jamie is just about done restoring a very rare 1960 Porsche 356A Beutler that is only one of five prototypes ever produced. I have been to his shop and highly recommend his restoration work on air-cooled Porsches.

Beautiful work! Any chance of pictures of the Beutler? I have been looking for some shots for the house.

Let me check with Jamie at Spirit of Excellence. I know that it is still in the restoration process, but maybe there are some pictures he can share.

Thank you. Jamie does nice work. His hourly rate is reasonable; he is honest and an excellent communicator. Since I was six hours away, he regularly sent me pictures and asked questions every step of the way.

I am very happy with the outcome of the engine project. We won first place in class yesterday at the Ault Park Concours.
