Pulled the trigger on a 912 this week, have been looking for one since last fall. Got to drive it 160 miles home on a nice Sunny Spring morning, what a joy. My 22 year old son was following me incase there was a problem. We stopped at a rest stop and I handed him the keys and told him he could take it to the next rest stop. It was almost as much fun watching him drive it as it was for me to drive it.

The car is mechanically pretty sound but has some electrical issues. I Need a good wiring diagram and shop manuals, what are my best options?

Congrats!! A great and under-appreciated version. I love mine and fiddle with it all the time.

Electrical problems in the 45 year old cars (or older) are usually down to bad connection if the circuit hasn't been hacked apart to put blue LED windshield washers in. Begin by claning everything you can get you hands on easily. Pay particular attention to the grounds and their body bolts. Clean, clean clean. I used a dremel with a tiny wire brush. made things easier. There are also some good sprays out there than can be sued to clean sockets where it's hard to clean. This stuff is the BOMB

Just got home from work so they beat me to it. Glad you got some ideas. I wire brushed all the teal colored stuff in my fuse box on the copper. That alone made a world of difference.

The orange book was published by Lash International by Mel Kay... try to get that one, with the same from cover, if possible. They come up for sale for about 25-40.00... I found mine in Amazon. Used but in excellent condition. Here is the link:

Wiring diagram: I have one in pdf that has layers, open it via Adobe Reader and you will be able to turn on and off the layers to make it easier to identify the different circuits. Navigate to this page to download directly:

Use photobucket or the equivalent. Copy photo, open the image icon above post reply box then right click to paste url. I don't think you can post pictures directly from your computer files. It has to have a url.
